Peter's Chair and Table is a design classic and an ideal gift for small children. Sturdy and safe, it's made from four pieces of wood that can be assembled and disassembled again and again - no tools are necessary. That makes the chair functional, plus, it's a great toy.

Peter's Chair and Table was designed by Wegner as a present for the baby son of Wegner's friend and colleague Børge Mogensen. In the war years quality furniture was hard to find - so he made his own.

HISTORY

Designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1944.

Toward the end of WWII, Hans J. Wegner was looking for an appropriate christening gift for Peter, the son of Hans J. Wegner's friend and fellow furniture designer, Børge Mogensen. Wartime conditions made it impossible to find a suitable present - so Hans J. Wegner designed and manufactured made one himself!

DESCRIPTION

The CH410/411 table and chair set is a classic and practical furniture set for young children.
The set is easy to assemble without the usage of any tools. It might even have been one of the first "knock-down" designs ever.

There are no sharp edges.
It is made in untreated maple and beech hardwood to be completely safe for children of all ages.

Made from solid hardwood.

The desk has a straightforward, cubistic design which has retained its contemporary look through the years.
The extravagant desk is great for executive offices or in private homes. The characteristic design of the desk employs hand-polished, stainless steel legs and a wide wooden desktop in oak or walnut.

The desk has many beautiful details, some visible some hidden, such as the long sleek drawers finished with dovetail joints, the flexible compartments inside the drawers and the stainless steel handles. Lock and key is included.

Made from hardwood and stainless steel.

THE DESIGNER

As a driving force behind 'Danish Modern', Hans J. Wegner helped change the general public's view of furniture in the 1950s and 1960s. His passion for designing chairs, more than 500 of them, is recognized worldwide and reflected in his title 'the Master of the Chair'. He is famous for integrating perfectly executed joints with exquisite shapes and combining them with a constant curiosity for materials and deep respect for wood and its natural characteristics. His designs furnish minimalism with organic and natural softness.
