  • Designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1952.
  • The design is a reminiscent of the simple sawbucks used by carpenters and woodcutters.
  • Simple construction and great comfort.
  • Oak/walnut is a mix version combined with legs in oak and a seat and back in walnut.

Hans J. Wegner designed the CH29, or "The Saw buck Chair" for Carl Hansen & Son in 1952.
It was taken out of production in the 1970's and it was Wegner's daughter Marianne Wegner who suggested it be reintroduced 20 years later.

The design of the CH29, reminiscent of the simple sawbucks (or "saw horse") traditionally used by carpenters and woodcutters, is closely related to Hans J. Wegner's easy chair, CH28.

A common misinterpretation of the C29 is that the legs can fold, however, this is not the case. The rounded front legs and square cut back legs are fixed.

It has a simple construction providing great comfort. The bend back piece follows the back and the open chair allows for great flexibility making it ideal as both a dining and desk chair.

It is made from solid hardwood, hardwood laminate and cold foam. Upholstered in customer's choice of fabric or leather.
