All the motifs for this design came from the background of a 17th century Indian wall hanging. The colouring is in same style as the original document, white outlines on a coloured ground. Lewis & Wood's new printed stripe BANDANA (shown on chair) is based on smaller motifs from the same panel. Both are printed on a dual purpose linen cotton union.
Part of their new Wax Works Collection, inspired by antique artworks from different cultures and different centuries, all executed in the same wax resist technique.
