The centrepiece of our Voysey collection, based on original drawings by the Edwardian architect and textile designer C.F.A. Voysey.
Originally named Ballard Tapestry the 'millefleurs' in the background conjured up The Lady & The Unicorn tapestries in the Cluny museum, Paris, so it was decided to turn one of the deer into a unicorn. Humour was often found in Voysey's work and the V&A felt he would have approved.
